We are led to believe in life that everything has a purpose and a place. People fear spiders, mice and cockroaches but they all server a purpose in our world. No matter the size of the animal or insect everything has its place but what is the purpose for the head lice life, as they do not seem to help anyone or anything. It almost seems as if they were created in order to annoy the human as these little bugs like only human hosts.

Head lice prosper in hair and live their whole life on our scalps. Head lice are brown or black insects that have no wings and are parasites. Those mainly effected by the infestation of head lice are children ages four to ten years old but this is not a guarantee that older children or even adults cannot be infested as well. When I think of head lice, I think of itchy scalps and tiny crawling bugs that self perpetuate. There is nothing nice about these bugs and while the head lice life perpetuation is not a real danger to anyone, it is a problem that can continue on forever if it is not treated properly. People get head lice from direct head to head contact with another person who has head lice. This can happen when people play, cuddle or work closely together. Have you had your child come home from school or care with an itchy head only to find that they have head lice? For some people there could be nothing worse than dealing with this little pesky bugs. Did you know though that that the head lice life span is not that long at all and once removed from their host, they will live only a few hours to a few days?
